Dean McDermott has revealed that, due to how dark certain things got in his life, he had contemplated committing suicide. It has been a rocky year, indeed, for the "Chopped Canada" host.

McDermott was hated by many of late due to his philandering ways. He talked with Access Hollywood and said that he will no longer be a part of his wife's reality TV show, "True Tori," despite the fact that he is one of the executive producers for the show.

"I'm not going to continue with the show," McDermott stated. "I can't do this anymore. I can't keep opening a vein, opening my soul, and sharing my feelings and thoughts and demons with the world."

He mentioned that he will continue to be part of the show for its current season's last five episodes. After that, he was signing off for good.

With regards to the time when he thought about harming himself, it was, according to him, during his darkest moments. "I was driving around in my truck with a loaded 9mm," McDermott shared. "I was put on a 5150 at the UCLA psych ward."

Since then, things have started to shine quite brightly for him. Dean McDermott added, "I'm on the right medication. Things are looking up right now. They're good today."

McDermott has graced headlines lately as he was caught cheating on his wife Tori Spelling. Their reality series placed a lot of focus on the two of them attempting to fix their broken marriage. He shared that is pretty hopeful that he and Spelling will be able to work things out and that they will be staying together.

Apart from the hopes that he has for his family, he also has hopes for his career. "I see myself on a scripted show," McDermott revealed. "I'm getting back to my roots. I'm getting back to acting. I went out and auditioned for a part on a 'CSI' and got it. It's airing December 14."
