Rachel Bilson and boyfriend Hayden Christensen has just welcomed their baby girl to the world. They even gave their daughter a Disney Princess-themed name.
The "Hart of Dixie" star's representative told Us Weekly in a statement, "Hayden Christensen and Rachel Bilson welcome their daughter, Briar Rose Christensen, born on October 29, 2014. Both mother and baby are healthy and doing well. They are asking for privacy and subscribe to the No Kids Policy."
This beautiful moniker is associated with Princess Aurora in the 1959 Disney classic, "Sleeping Beauty." The three fairies protected the stunning princess from Maleficent's curse and gave her a new name, which was Briar Rose. It was also the name that was used in the original Grimm Brothers fairy tale in 1812.
News of Bilson's baby bump first broke out just this past May. According to the report, the 33-year-old actress and the 33-year-old "Star Wars" actor were expecting a baby. The source said, "They've both talked about this for a while and are so excited. Everyone is beyond thrilled for them."
Jaime King, who is Bilson's co-star in "Hart of Dixie" and a fellow mother, gushed about her friend mom-to-be in May. "It's a really celebratory time," she said while she was at the Annenberg Space for Photography Exhibit Opening in Los Angeles. "I'm really thrilled and happy that she's going to be on this next journey of her life."
King also mentioned that Rachel Bilson often displayed her maternal instincts when she, out of the blue, would want to play with her son James on the set of their show. "I know she's going to be the best mother," said King.
The former star of the "O.C." was the guest of honor at a baby shower that was held on August 31st. It was a very private event that only included family members, former classmates, King, and close friend Natalie Portman. However, instead of bearing gifts, her guests gave her a birth bead that was to be made into a necklace. An insider revealed, "She will use the beads for strength during labor."
