Keira Knightley's topless photo (NSFW) circulated the Internet after it was published on The Interview. What shocked people, however, was her adamant request to not alter anything on the picture.
"I've had my body manipulated so many different times for so many different reasons, whether it's paparazzi photographers or for film posters," 'The Imitation Game' star told The Times about her experiences with some photoshoots.
She previously pointed out the poster for 'King Arthur' in 2004 as one of the most controversial photoshop disaster of her career. Her breasts were heavily edited to appear bigger, however, it turned out "really strange droopy" according to an interview she had with Allure magazine.
The 29-year-old refuses to have her photos edited now.
According to the 'Begin Again' actress, the photoshoot she had with Patrick Demarchelier "was one of the ones where I said: 'OK, I'm fine doing the topless shot so long as you don't make them any bigger or retouch.'"
Why did she insist on this? She added, "Because it does feel important to say it really doesn't matter what shape you are."
Keira Knightley's topless photo with The Interview isn't the first shoot the actress had where she had to bare her breasts. This is the first time, however, that she voiced out her condition to not edit her real image.
"They always pencil in my boobs," she told Allure in 2012.
She added during the same interview, "I don't mind exposing my t*** [on screen] because they're so small - people really aren't that interested."
She further told The Times, "I think women's bodies are a battleground and photography is partly to blame."
She also pointed out, "Our society is so photographic now, it becomes more difficult to see all of those different varieties of shape."
What did you think about Keira Knightley's topless photo? Did she make the right decision in not allowing Demarchelier to enhance her breasts?
