The latest "Star Wars episode 7" rumors and news hint of another installment in the franchise as production returns to Pinewood studios. Meanwhile, a website claimed that leaked concept art hinted of stormtroopers heaping destruction on a village using flamethrowers.
This was revealed by no less than the CEO of Pinewood Shepperton, Ivan Dunleavy, himself during the annual CBI conference in London, said The Hollywood Reporter.
"The seventh Star Wars movie just finished shooting at Pinewood. And I'm delighted to be able to tell you that a new Star Wars movie is already booked in," he said.
"R2D2 was built in the U.K. 37 years ago. Since then, he's spent a lot of his life in foreign studios. But now he's back home," Dunleavy added.
Disney reps, however, have not issued any statement confirming the "Star Wars Episode 7" rumors and news, nor if it involved "Star Wars VIII" which will be written and directed by Rian Johnson.
"The first stand-alone film, to be directed by Gareth Edwards, is due for release Dec. 16, 2016, so it would likely be shot in 2015," the website added.
Meanwhile, Making Star Wars revealed more "Star Wars Episode 7" rumors and news when it described what happened when stormtroopers descend upon a village, which is part of the Pinewood set in Abu Dhabi.
"The background is now entirely in flames. One Stormtrooper lays on the ground. He's bleeding. There's blood on his hand and he holds it up to his Stormtrooper brother who attempts to save his life. The blood runs down his arm. His brother has three blood marks on his helmet where the trooper touched his face before he collapsed to the ground. In the background, Stormtroopers continue to advance with flamethrowers burning the village. Lasers whip past their helmets, depicting fierce resistance," it said.
The village in question is supposedly the home of Daisy Ridley's Kira who has to leave when the place she grew up in is burned to the ground.
