Ellen DeGeneres & Portia De Rossi's divorce rumors simmer down for a while. However, recent buzz suggest that their relationship is once again leaning to break up. Rumor suggests that the talk show host and her wife is putting up a strong front to make the world think that they are really okay. According to OK Magazine as reported by Classicalite, "Ellen has been less than truthful about a lot of things as of late."
"Ellen wants the world to believe that she and Portia are happier than ever...But in reality they aren't. They haven't been happy for years. Now that she's sober, Portia realizes how unhappy she was, and she resents Ellen," the insider said.
According to Celeb Dirty Laundry, the couple's divorce rumors re-emerged after they failed to show up in a charity event.
Page Six reported that the couple get in a fight while on the way to Saving SPOT at Tiato in Santa Monica. The couple was listed as the hosts of the said gathering and even have their photos present in the invitations.
"Ellen and Portia were supposed to be at the event at 5 p.m., but at 6:30 p.m., the media was still waiting for their arrival. Reporters were told they were on their way, until the head of the charity informed everyone at the end of the event that they weren't going to make it due to 'logistics.'" the source said.
According to Page Six, Ellen and Portia "insisted" they had informed the charity that they won't be able to make it to the even and that their photos should not have been in the invitation.
Celeb Dirty Laundry noted that the source of the couple's disagreement focuses on Portia getting herself back into having her own career and gaining self-confidence apart from Ellen's shadow. Reportedly, Ellen is "furious" about the shift in power dynamics since the "Scandal" star is not that easy to control anymore.
The online tabloid cited Star Magazine's November 17th edition stating: "Ellen and Portia's pals are worried that the duo is just trying to protect their reputations by pretending to be happy. Ellen wants the world to believe that everything is fine, that's why she constantly talks about the marriage on her show."
