The rape allegations made against comedian Bill Cosby were brought to light after a failed social media challenge and a standup performance by Hannibal Buress, in which the comic calls the 77-year-old actor a rapist, according to the Detroit Free Press.
Amidst the reported 13 rape allegations that were made against Bill Cosby, his wife, Camille Cosby, has remained silent regarding the accusations.
During the Cosby's recent interview on NPR's Weekend Edition Saturday, host Scott Simon, reportedly asked whether Bill Cosby had anything to say about the rape allegations, but both the comedian and his wife remained silent on the matter. Cosby reportedly just shook his head, and refused to say a word, according to the media outlet Mashable.
Scott Simon has since tweeted about the interview, which has raised a lot of questions among the public.
"I'll respond to @BillCosby questions later. For moment: yes, I hated to have to ask about charges in front of Mrs. Cosby," tweeted Simon.
One of Cosby's alleged victims, Barbara Bowman, wrote an op-ed piece for The Washington Post, detailing her horrific experience and asking the world why it took so long to believe her story.
"Cosby won my trust as a 17-year-old aspiring actress in 1985, brainwashed me into viewing him as a father figure, and then assaulted me multiple times," wrote Bowman.
As the allegations continue, Bill Cosby's long-career may be coming to an end. Cosby's publicist, David Brokaw, reportedly announced that he would not appear on the November 19 episode of "The Late Show With David Letterman."
The staff at "The Queen Latifah Show" reportedly stated that Cosby's camp "postponed" his October 30 visit.
Former Bill Cobsy fans are also starting to turn their backs on one of America's former favorite TV dads as well.
"Found out about these Bill Cosby rape allegations a couple days ago. I really can't look up to any celebrities anymore," tweeted social media user Nathan Zed.
