Country singer turned author, Jimmy Wayne, has a new Christmas movie coming in theaters near you!
People reported that in 2002, Jimmy Wayne spent some time at a Nashville mall. He noticed that the Christmas tree for the Salvation Army's Angel Tree Program standing on the mall didn't get the attention that it deserved.
Jimmy revealed to People:
Everyone was walking past the tree and no one was paying it any attention,"
"I thought to myself, 'Man, I used to be a recipient of the Angel Tree Program. That's how I got my first guitar. I wish these people would pay attention to it.' I wondered, 'What can I do to draw awareness so that people won't just walk past it?' "
Jimmy's 2004 song, "Paper Angels," was penned as an inspiration for that Christmas tree. Not too long after, the song turned into a book.
And now, a new Jimmy Wayne Christmas movie will be released based on "Paper Angels." "Paper Angels" is now a television movie set to air on Sunday at 7 p.m. ET via the U.P. Network.
Jimmy Wayne's new Christmas movie will also feature the singer turned author's acting cameo debut.
Wayne narrated the experience of acting in front of a camera with amusement:
"Walking on camera isn't as easy as it looks!"
"You'll see me walking out the door of a high school and I was horrible! They probably had to do like five takes. When you see it you're going to be like, 'Really?' Five times?' But when you're walking in front of all these cameras, it's so much different. I got all weird feeling. I have a whole new respect for actors!"
