It seems like forever ago when we mused about eventually seeing Sophie Hunter, Benedict Cumberbatch's fiancé, walking the red carpet with him in the future. We didn't have to wait long.
The couple, who reportedly only started dating early this year, only needed to announce their engagement to the whole world (through a tiny advert on The Times) to finally show up together at a premiere.
The 'Sherlock' star brought his future wife to the Manhattan premiere of his new movie, 'The Imitation Game' last Monday.
The Oscar-buzzed actor proudly wrapped his arms around his lady love. She was dressed in a floral dress, wore natural makeup, and had no other accessory adorning her body except the huge chunk of diamond on her finger.
The Oxford-educated theatre director reportedly wore the engagement ring that Cumberbatch gave her to seal the deal, albeit a little shy to flaunt it in public.
Although the couple has not set a date for their wedding yet, the 'Star Trek: Into Darkness' actor can't help but announce that he's a "very happy man."
According to AP, Benedict Cumberbatch and fiancé Sophie Hunter were overwhelmed with the support they received from people who loved them. He shared that "the amount of love that comes back to you, that was the thing that we are both just sort of bowled over by. It's wonderful."
Despite the messages of congratulations, however, there are still a lot of women who still feel devastated by the '12 Years A Slave' actor's change in status. He addressed that concern joking on Live! With Kelly And Michael.
He said, "I have a great population of fans as well - they're smart, they'll get around to the idea. Your ovaries do still have use, let me tell you!"
Although he does appreciate the support he gets from his fans, he admitted to E! News that "'the only support I really need, to be honest, is the woman I love who I proposed to."
Do you think Benedict Cumberbatch and fiancé Sophie Hunter make a beautiful pair? Or are you still mourning the loss of his bachelorhood?
