A marriage license has reportedly been issued November 7 in Kings County, California for mass murderer Charles Manson and his future wife Afton Elaine Burton, according to the Associated Press.

The marriage may not just be a ceremony for the 26-year-old Burton to showcase her love for the 80-year-old killer, but also a potential way for Burton, who goes by "Star," to work on his case as she reportedly believes that he's innocent.

Manson had been in state prison since 1971 and was sentenced to death for his role in the 1969 slayings of pregnant actress Sharon Tate and six others, according to the LA Times. Manson's future wife reportedly moved to California from the midwest to be closer to Manson and maintains several websites advocating his innocence, according to ABC News.

The marriage, although odd, reportedly already has a wedding coordinator. The couple reportedly has until early February to get married before they would have to reapply for another marriage license.

Despite the world's shock regarding the upcoming wedding, Burton seems to be absolutely certain that she's going to spend the rest of her life as Mrs. Manson.

"Ya'll can know that it's true. It's going to happen," stated Burton.

She added, "I love him. I'm with him. There's all kinds of things."

Charles Manson reportedly faces a life sentence and is not eligible for parol until 2027, which is when he would be in his mid-90s. There will reportedly be no consummation of the vows for Burton and Manson and he is not allowed conjugal visits.
