Little Big Planet 3 Review Doesn’t Disappoint Fans; Bigger Adventure Mode, Great Design, Involved Customization, And Solid Multiplayer Action Offer Worthy Follow-Up To The Franchise

Little Big Planet 3's release date doesn't disappoint; the game is still visually impressive, with plenty of new features to boot.

This Little Big Planet 3 review raves about the improvements made over the game's previous installments. There were doubts about a new outfit taking over development; Sumo Digital kept the Media Molecule aesthetic intact, though, with a makeover in game design thrown in.

The previous LBP games were heavy on customization, which was a neat feature for OC gamers who want to make the most out playtime. Multiplayer co-op mode was a novelty in itself with personalized Sackboys figuring out the levels.

There's emphasis on the game's narrative this time around:

"All the supporting characters in LittleBigPlanet 3 are now voiced... While I was initially wary that more traditional video game storytelling might feel out of place in a world that has always delighted in the surreal, I found LittleBigPlanet's simple narrative unobtrusive and fun, and its characters idiosyncratically weird." Control is solid and dynamic, which is crucial in multiplayer mode. Adventure Mode is larger and longer, with levels designed for the involved puzzle enthusiast. But while there are more playable characters in-game, there are fewer opportunities to use some, which puts novel abilities to waste.

LBP compensates with an engaging multiplayer mode, with carefully-planned levels.

"Limited use of the broader cast extends to cooperative play, as LittleBigPlanet 3 curiously insists you and your co-op partner(s) have to play as the same character in individual levels. I found only one instance where this was not that case, and that particular level was so cleverly orchestrated, utilizing all skillsets in a frantic race against the clock, I am dumbfounded there weren't more like it."

The consensus in Little Big Planet 3 review is a solid, playable game. With created levels customizable in 16 layers, expansive Adventure Mode, and topnotch multiplayer option, the newest addition to the franchise doesn't disappoint.
