The latest "G.I. Joe 3" update reveals that, as reported by Comic Book Movie, Paramount and producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura want "Green Lantern" director Martin Campbell to helm the next "G.I. Joe" film. Aside from directing "Green Lantern," Martin is also known for "Casino Royale."

According to the source of Comic Book Movie "Schmoes Know," they heard that Paramount and producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura ("Transformers") want Martin Campbell to direct G.I. Joe 3.

Campbell hasn't directed any film after his 2011 "Green Lantern" which is starred by Ryan Reynold, Based on the opinion of the movie website, his 2011 comic book movie "is one of the worst comic book movies of all-time." However, Campbell's "Casino Royale" is considered the best "James Bond" film of all time.

"G.I. Joe 3" Update: The action flick is currently being written by screenwriter Jonathan Lemkin. Lemkin is well-known for his writing credits for "Shooter," "Devil's Advocate," and "Lethal Weapon 4." The production plans to start filming in 2015 and release "G.I. Joe 3" in 2016. Comic Book gave a spoiler of this movie. They said that the story will focus on Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson's "Roadblock."

According to Screent Rant, Channing Tatum will return in the movie. The movie site said that the previous sequel was semi-reboot. "G.I. Joe: Retaliation's" didn't show if Tatum really die. Some fans got disappointed when Tatum's character ended.

Meanwhile, the previous report of MTV said that director Jon Chu is back to helm the third installment which is contrary to Comic Book's report.

Chu told MTV News, that he is "taking it to another level with this one, it's gonna be a really fun movie. We're taking it in a whole new direction."

The director also said that "G.I. Joe 3″ will feature a mix of old favorites and "exciting" newcomers which is "Foxcatcher" actor, Channing.
