Sandy Hook Shooting Conspiracy Theories Debunked? Killer Had Planned Mass Murder

The shooting that occurred at a Sandy Hook school in 2012 had been surrounded with conspiracy theories with some claiming that the shocking massacre was a fake media hoax.

However, the conspiracy theories regarding the Sandy Hook shooting are being debunked as a Connecticut agency investigating the massacre has found that the killer, Adam Lanza, did not "snap" but had carefully planned the attack, according to USA Today.

20-year-old Lanza had reportedly killed his mother at their home in Newtown, Connecticut on the morning of December 14, then went to the school he had once attended, shooting 20 children and six staff members before killing himself. A report issued Friday by the Office of Child Advocate, stated that Lanza had become "increasingly preoccupied with mass murder" over the years and was encouraged by a "micro society of mass murder enthusiasts with whom he was in email communication."

Further details debunking the conspiracy theories surrounding the Sandy Hook shooting massacre include reports that Adam Lanza's childhood was filled with "crippling" mental health issues, some of which his mother ignored, according to the NY Daily News.

The shooter's mother, Nancy Lanza, reportedly withdrew him from classes due to his mental health problems and the school agreed to let him study independently and graduate early when it could have provided better services for the boy, the report stated.

"Records indicate that the school system cared about AL's success but also unwittingly enabled Mrs. Lanza's preference to accommodate and appease AL through the educational plan's lack of attention to social-emotional support, failure to provide related services, and agreement to AL's plan of independent study and early graduation at age 17," the authors wrote.

When he was two-years-old, Lanza's parents reportedly took him to New Hampshire doctors because he showed communication and sensory problems and socialization delay.

Lanza's mental condition reportedly "progressively deteriorated in the last years of his life, eventually living in virtual social isolation." He was also anorexic at the time of his death, only weighing 112 pounds at 6 feet.
