Is Beyonce's '7/11' Music [Video] Not 'Flawless' Enough? YouTube Users Slam Singer

Tags

Beyonce released her new track "7/11" last week and the music video has already garnered over 20 million views.

However, despite the amount of attention Beyonce's new "7/11" music video has received thus far, YouTube users are calling out the pop star for the being "unoriginal."

"Yawn. . . unoriginal, tired and contrived. Was this Beyonce's idea or some intern assigned to handling has-beens?," commented YouTube user Chad Tennant.

Fellow user of the video-sharing site Brandon Bourne wrote, "I thought it was weird, but when she used her foot as a phone, and yelled into it... I had to turn it off."

In the music video for "7/11," Beyonce is seen dancing in her underwear in hotel rooms, "evoking a kind of homemade quality," according to TIME. The three minute 30 second clip is most definitely not as perfectly edited and coordinated as her other videos (e.g. "Flawless"), and angry fans have taken notice.

Some have even become nostalgic, asking where the Beyonce that gave us the ever-emotional "Halo" went.

"Where are your great vocals? Where are your songs, which go into our hearts? Sorry but this song is S***," wrote YouTube user Ali A.H.

Despite the upset fans, loyal Beyonce supporters have spoken for the "Flawless" singer.

"Obviously this isn't as serious as Beyonce's other songs hence why it was uploaded on youtube with no promo and the video is pretty much filmed by her and her friends/family. People saying she's immature clearly don't get this video or it's point, it's more or less showing us beyonce without all the glam and fancy expensive props and outfits, just beyonce dancing around like most of us do and having FUN, something some of you bitter folk should learn. And i think it's rather impressive that she's so versatile, she can go from this to throwing out an amazing ballad tomorrow. She's amazing, stop all this bitterness," wrote social media user Devine Shaw.
