"The Crew" game release date is all set on December 2. The online racing game will be available on PS4, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and also on PC.

Apart from the much awaited release on December, Ubisoft will also be releasing an open beta test on November 25-27. This gives PS4 and Xbox One players to play the game for free before its official launch next month.

"Those who will register for the online trial will get the chance to explore the U.S. roads without restrictions and compete with other players in two of the five available races in the game, which are located in the Midwest and East Coast. In addition, two of the five spec classes featured in the soon-to-be-released online racing video game will also be included in the open beta so that players can have a chance to try it out.

All Xbox Live and PlayStation members will be given the opportunity to play the open beta, but there will be several features that will be exclusively offered to those who have subscribed to PS Plus and Xbox Live Gold," Christian Today reported.

Apart from "The Crew" game release date updates, a new trailer called "The Crew 101," has also been released. The sneak peak aims to excite fans by giving them a glimpse of the features and arcade style gameplay.

"The Crew" is the brainchild of Ubisoft Reflections and Ivory Tower. It is an open world racing game that runs across major roads in the US. It follows main protagonist Alex Taylor as he tries to stop crime through racing.

The game also has other features including "mini games dubbed as skills, which are activated once a player manages to drive through them. The skills involve finishing different tasks like staying close to a racing line for an allotted time or weaving through different gates."

"Other impressive selling points include zero loading screens, set perks for cars and the ability to fast travel anywhere once discovered - the latter will no doubt come in very handy considering the scope of The Crew's open world which supposedly takes about 40 minutes to travel through from end to end. So, don't think about hanging up your controller for 2014 just yet. Whilst every other triple A game for the year is already on the shelves, The Crew - with it's unique identity and big ideas - might just be a strong contender to park up in your Christmas stocking," Gamespresso noted.
