The Bette Midler Ariana Grande feud is officially on; the "Problem" singer responds to comments she's selling out with sex for the sake of fame.
A feud has just started between Bette Midler and Ariana Grande, after the latter responded to the "For the Boys" star's comments she's been selling out too much for a shot at fame.
In a recent interview with The Telegraph, Midler made sharp comments on the current generation of music artists; to put it mildly, Midler thinks there's too much sex and sellouts now in a bid for fame. Things were expected to heat up when she name-dropped Ariana Grande as an example.
"It's always surprising to see someone like Ariana Grande with that silly high voice, a very wholesome voice, slithering around on a couch looking so ridiculous. I mean, it's silly beyond belief and I don't know who's telling her to do it."
Ariana has since responded to the comment, quoted in a tweet:
"Bette was always a feminist who stood for women being able to do whatever the F they wanted without judgement! not sure where that Bette went but i want that sexy mermaid back!!! always a fan no matter what my love."
