Iggy Azalea's 2014 AMA win is the first ever award she got for her music, the Australian rapper declared during her speech last Sunday.

As she accepted the American Music Award for Best Rap/Hip-Hop Album for 'The New Classic,' the 'Black Widow' rapper emotionally shared her feelings for bagging the said prestige.

"This award is the first award I've ever won in my entire life, and means so much to me that it is for best hip-hop, because that's what inspired me to move to America and pursue my dreams," the "Fancy" singer.

She further added, "It's what helped me when I was a teenager to escape and to get through my life and to better times."

She also candidly admitted that the win meant more to her because of (while throwing in some light shade on) the immense talent of the contenders she won against.

"It means so much that I can stand here against Eminem and Drake and come out with this," the 24-year-old recording star said.

US Weekly magazine, on the other hand, didn't just notice her emotional speech. (She also won Favorite Rap/Hip-Hop Artist later that night).

The magazine called the rising star a "dead-on Jennifer Lawrence/Gwyneth Paltrow hybrid."

She reportedly "got all J. Law on us in her humble, aw shucks, 'Really, me?' spirit. Plus, her slanted eyes and [chiselled] cheekbones recalled Katniss Everdeen herself."

She also channelled Gwyneth Paltrow through the chic tuxedo she wore that night, because according to the publication, no one can nail the "androgynous menswear look" like the "Iron Man" star.

According to US Weekly, "Azalea nailed it in all black - a sexy-yet-understated move right out of Paltrow's playbook."

Iggy Azalea's 2014 AMA performances didn't have a touch of Jennifer Lawrence or Gwyneth Paltrow. She exuded a rapper's charisma when she performed "Fancy" with Charli XCX, "Beg For It" and a sneak peek of the songs from her album, "Reclassified."

She also performed "Booty" with Jennifer Lopez for the first time on TV.
