Joan Rivers' death is still being mourned by Melissa Rivers, who will have her first Thanksgiving without her mother. According to a report from Page Six, the late comedienne's only daughter will host a Thanksgiving dinner at the former "Fashion Police" host's elegant Upper East Side apartment.
The celebration will be in honor of Joan Rivers, whose death last September 4 shocked fans worldwide.
An insider detailed: "Melissa is hosting the dinner in honor of Joan, and to continue a tradition she did every year. Joan would welcome her friends, relatives and anyone who might not have family members in New York to a Thanksgiving dinner at her home."
"Her table seats 50 people, and each year everyone had to stand up and tell the table what they were thankful for," the source added.
Prior to Joan Rivers' death, the talk show host's guests during Thanksgiving included her grandson Cooper, niece Caroline Waxler, Lynne Koplitz of "Joan Knows Best", and Nancy Jo Sales of Vanity Fair.
While still mourning Joan Rivers' death, the insider added that Melissa Rivers "wants the occasion to be a happy one, to remember her mother and everything she did for other people."
According to the Page Six report, the venue of the Thanksgiving dinner was once described as "where Marie Antoinette would have lived if she had the money." The 44-year-old daughter of the late comedienne is said to have kept Joan Rivers' apartment "exactly as it was in her memory".
Earlier Melissa Rivers news reported that the daughter of Joan Rivers is "outraged" as more details were released following an inspection at Yorkville Endoscopy.
According to Melissa Rivers news reported by Entertainment Tonight, the lawyer of Joan Rivers' only daughter said that the 46-year-old is "outraged by the misconduct and mismanagement now shown to have occurred before, during and after the procedure."
Yorkville Endoscopy is the East Side medical facility was where the "Fashion Police" host suffered from operation complications that led to her death, making them face a multi-million dollar lawsuit from Melissa Rivers.
One of the errors reportedly made by the clinic included their failure to get Joan Rivers' informed consent for the throat procedure that was performed on her.
Yorkville Endoscopy also reportedly "failed to identify deteriorating vital signs", said the report from Entertainment Tonight.
A staff member also supposedly took cellphone photos of Joan Rivers and the surgeon during the operation.
