CM Punk news reveals "The Straight Edge Superstar's" statements regarding his split with the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE). The former champion also claimed that the changes within the company were made to spite him.
In January, CM Punk (Philip Brooks in real life) parted ways with the WWE, the company that granted him the mainstream success he has been enjoying since 2006. In a report by WrestleZone, the charismatic WWE superstar revealed that his last few years as a professional wrestler were not that great.
"I thought this thing that I loved, that I thought I loved, it just made me so miserable all the time," Punk explained. "When you boil it all down, I was miserable. I was unhappy. F*** it, I made myself happy. I left. It wasn't an easy decision to make, but it was also a long time coming."
CM Punk news also reveals the former WWE talent's cries of favoritism. Punk pointed out how head honcho Vince McMahon shot down his creative inputs for the company, which would have meant raking in a lot of money. But when it came to his fellow pro-wrestlers, McMahon was more accommodating.
"I'm talking to Vince, and I tell him that since I cut that promo, we got more mainstream attention," he continued. "Everyone wanted to interview me, whether it was GQ Magazine, the cover of USA Today ... I had legitimate companies approaching me, just wanting to give me money to sponsor me."
"I got all these new eyes on the product, and he says 'nope, you can't do that," he added. "Sponsors for Raw would get mad, the other wrestlers would get mad.' A year later, Brock Lesnar comes back, and the mother-f***** has sponsors."
CM Punk news also reveals that the pro-wrestler believes changes within the WWE were made to spite him.
"When I split in January, they changed everything," he added. "Part of me thinks they changed a lot to spite me, and that's fine, because certain people who deserved certain things, at certain times, got those things."
