A "Fashion Police" update has revealed that Kathy Griffin is still not sure about joining the show to replace Joan Rivers.
According a "Fashion Police" update from People, the news follows the comedienne's admission that she was offered the slot after Joan Rivers' death last September 4.
The comedienne also revealed that she and Joan Rivers have previously talked about the possibility of her joining the show. Kathy Griffin said: "Ironically, she and I talked about it many times."
"She would joke that, no matter what, I should always get 10 percent less than she got," Kathy Griffin said about the TV icon.
Deemed as Joan Rivers' protégé, Kathy Griffin confessed that she is still not completely convinced about filling in for Joan Rivers. "It's definitely something that I've put a lot of thought into. Obviously there is an emotional tie for me because Joan was such a good friend of mine, a close friend, truly a mentor - but also a legit friend," she said.
Kathy Griffin narrated, repoted by People: "We talked about everything, and we joked about everything on the table, so it's something that I've been thinking about for a while and I think it's something they've been thinking about too."
According to a report from TMZ, the redhead comedienne will be joined by another new host - Joan Rivers' 46-year- old daughter, Melissa Rivers.
The "Fashion Police" update came after sources revealed that Kathy Griffin signed a deal with E! Network-to be part of the hit fashion-critique show.
Kathy Griffin and Melissa Rivers will be joined by the show's original hosts Kelly Osbourne and Giuliana Rancic.
However, "Fashion Police" news reported that there is still no confirmation as to host's George Kotsiopoulos participation for the upcoming season.
An insider has told Daily Mail: "Kathy has been told if she wants the gig she can have it because Melissa wanted someone who her mother would have approved of."
The "Fashion Police" update came after rumors regarding Kathy Griffin's hosting stint started circulating even while Joan Rivers was still in a coma. The late comedienne's good friend immediately shut down the rumors back then. "It's disgusting. It's not true," Kathy Griffin said.
"I know that stuff shouldn't bother me at this stage of my career-you know, I thought I'd heard it all-but that one hurts, because it's as far from the truth as you can get," Kathy Griffin expressed, reported by Daily Mail.
A source close to Kathy Griffin said the redhead "adored and admired Joan". The insider said: "Not only did Joan mentor Kathy they were really close friends. Kathy is heartbroken that she is gone."
