What could "Young and the Restless" star Corey Sligh be thankful for after he was assaulted on Thanksgiving? He's alive, for one.
Corey Sligh also proved the old adage that "no good deed goes unpunished" as he was just delivering a turkey dinner to a friend who was on a graveyard shift in Rite Aid, West Hollywood in California. He went with girlfriend Alisa Berhorst when the assault occurred.
According to "Young and the Restless" Corey Sligh's girlfriend, the actor told the two strangers to drive safely while at the "congested" parking lot as they almost hit some people in the area.
"They were hitting curbs and Corey said please slow down or we're going to call the cops," she told KCAL9, as shared by E! News.
The two perpetrators didn't take kindly to the word of advice from the TV actor.
"The guy walked up to him like I'm in the mood to kill somebody and this is who it's going to be because he told me to be careful and slow down and go away," Berhorst said. As a result, he was brought to the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles with a broken arm and several other injuries.
The police already arrested the two perpetrators who were charged with felony assault.
"LAPD confirms they've arrested two men they said exchanged words with the couple, actually hit Sligh with their car and got out of the vehicle and began beating him," reported CBS News.
"Young and the Restless" cast Corey Sligh then took to his Instagram to post his message of thanks: "Hey kids, went to feed some people last night who don't have blessed thanksgivings and along the way got struck by a drunk driver!" Have a surgery to go and another couple days in the hospital but should be fine soon! Thankful to still be on this great planet! Love y'all!"
