Lee Seung Gi has decided to drop out of the cast of the upcoming MBC drama "Kill Me, Heal Me." A representative from his agency, Hook Entertainment, told Newsen that he is not able to fit the drama into his busy schedule.

"He wanted to do it because it was a good script," said the Hook Entertainment representative. "But it was too difficult to adjust his overlapping film schedule."

Instead the actor will focus on promoting his first film "Today's Love" throughout the month of January.

If he had accepted the role in "Kill Me, Heal Me," Lee Seung Gi would have played a chaebol with multiple personality disorder. The character has seven distinct personalities that do not always agree. They occasionally even sabotage each other's efforts. These warring personalities create problems for the character in his work and love life, prompting him to seek treatment.

Rookie actress Lim Ji Yeon was up for the role of Lee Seung Gi's leading lady and she has also decided not to appear in the drama.

"She decided to drop out," said a representative of her agency, SIM Entertainment.

Her representatives also mentioned her busy film schedule as the reason for her change of heart.

According to her agency, "Kill Me, Heal Me" is scheduled to broadcast in January and the actress is committed to working on the film "Treacherous Retainer" through that month. Lim Ji Yeon's role in "Treacherous Retainer" is only her second role. Her first role was in the 2014 film "Obsessed," which co-starred Song Seung Hoon as the man who was obsessed with her.

In "Kill Me, Heal Me," Lim Ji Yeon was set to play the doctor who attempts to cure the disorder that creates so many problems for Lee Seung Gi's character.

There is no word yet on who might replace these actors.

Park Seo Joon, last seen in the comedy "Witch's Romance," is still signed on to play the second lead in the drama. Kim Yoo Ri, last seen in "The Master's Sun" and "The Full Sun," has also been cast.

The drama is a collaborative effort between writer Jin Soo Wan, who wrote the screenplay for "The Moon Embracing The Sun" and director Kim Jin Man, who directed "Scandal."

"Kill Me, Heal Me" was scheduled to follow the currently running drama "Mr. Baek" and hopefully they can find actors to fill the leading roles in time.
