A man has reportedly been charged with four counts of attempted murder after a stabbing aboard an Amtrak train, police said on Saturday, according to USA Today.
Although taking the Amtrak is never seen as a dangerous act, people may be more cautious as to who they're taking public transportation with as the man, who has reportedly been identified as Michael Williams, stabbed four people with a knife.
The train was reportedly on its way to Port Huron, Michigan when Amtrak called 911 on Friday night to report a passenger who seemed to be "agitated," CNN affiliate WBND reported.
By the time the police had arrived where the Amtrak had stopped, the man had reportedly already stabbed several people.
The three man and one women were reportedly taken to area hospitals, including Lakeland-Niles Hospital and Memorial Hospital, and were all reportedly in stable condition on Saturday, according to Niles Police Chief Jim Millen.
"It was terrifying, and you don't think something like that is going to happen to you," stated passenger Caitlin Cipri, who was packing her things to get off the train when she heard screaming.
She continued, "It's terrifying that things like this happen."
Passengers in the car were reportedly evacuated and questioned after the shockingly dangerous incident. Passenger Jason Evans was reportedly sleeping when the stabbing occurred five train cars away from his seat.
"They woke us up and told us we were going to be there for a while because they just had arrested someone on the train," explained Evans.
He continued, "We were kind of wondering if we heard the guy right that there had been someone who had been stabbed. We all just kind of stayed in our seats."
