"The Musketeers" Season 2 gets January 17, 2015 air date. There's a new cast and here are some news updates.

BBC America's "The Musketeers" returns with a new villain, Marc Warren. He is the Comte De Rochefort, an attractive and influential aristocrat who's skilled at sword fighting - and betrayal.

Warren shared in an interview how he had become a part of the drama series: "I took seven months off last year and I was in Prague anyway, so I met up with Tom Burke a couple of times because he's a friend of mine. I knew that he was doing 'The Musketeers' and he said that there was probably going to be baddie part coming up; the main villain of the show for series two. So I'd expressed an interest in doing that, and I'd seen the show and liked the look of it. It was more a direction I wanted to go in career-wise, plus I really love Prague so it was a no-brainer really."

"The Musketeers" is the creation of Adrian Hodges ("My Week with Marilyn"). He did "a fresh and contemporary take on the classic characters in the novel of Alexandre Dumas". He said that Season 2, which air date is surely being awaited by fans, "is a more demanding journey than before, as we've upped the serial element and taken the show in a slightly tough and perhaps more surprising direction. It's everything you might expect but taken a degree or two further than last time. The tone remains the same but this is a darker and sexier Musketeers."

Jessica Pope is the BBC executive producer. Hodges is also the executive producer while Colin Wratten is the producer.

Catch "The Musketeers" Season 2 on its air date, January 17, 2015, Saturday at 9pm ET on BBC America. Get ready to see the whole cast again. Keep posted here for more series updates.
