This War Of Mine Review: A Very Challenging Game But Leaves The Gamers Depressed And Feeling Terrible

Tags

Gamers have been interested in This War of Mine since the first teaser gameplay released back in March. It is well understood the basic idea behind this game. They didn't expect the trailer to be the way it is, and they definitely didn't foresee it to involve more emotions as difficult as it has. This War of Mine is emotional trip that makes it crazy, it leaves gamers thinking about it hours and days after every play.

This War of Mine is somewhat clearly set in a foreign country at the time of the classic rebels versus the government scenario and a modern civil war. The trailer goes around the day and night cycle. Gamers can work on their base and helping survivors by providing medicine and feeding them, while at night sequences show going around between various places and looking for more crafting parts, food, medicines and weapons.

The game's art style is wonderful and very much suitable to the mood of the game. The artists went crazy in shading on everything and it provides the backdrops and characters a depressing and bleak feel. The sad music adds on to the mood, it quietly plays in the background, even more adding to the game's emotion. The audio and visuals integration gave a very gloomy mood as soon as the gamer begin the game, and as survivors become ill and resources become scarce, the feeling of hopelessness also begins, this is what the game is all about.

Morality is an integral part in the gamer's actions, as well as the mental stability of the survivors. There will be times when they are forced to choose between starving to death the survivors, stealing from other groups and possibly leaving them to suffer. Survivors move as they would portray in real-life and will continuously be affected by the negative or positive decisions they make. Killing and stealing makes a huge effect on the mental health of the survivors and viewing or doing too many unfortunate things can lead to depression. Negative consequences in the game are a really tough call when gamers need to screw another group up to sustain their own life. Morality doesn't just affect the characters in the game, it also plays with the emotions of the players.
