Nicole Kidman confessed that she's still trying to recover from her father's death as the actress' adopted daughter, Isabella, opted for a life in London away from the glare of Hollywood.

"You know, I will look back at this year as one of the toughest years our family's ever gone through - I mean, the toughest, ever," the actress told the Daily Telegraph.

"I talk about it because I like to keep him alive, in a way. Even though you talk about it, you're still in so much pain so, yeah, as a family we're still in a lot of pain," Nicole Kidman said about her father's death.

Dr. Anthony Kidman died of a heart attack while he was in Singapore visiting the actress' sister. He was a clinical psychologist and Director of the Health Psychology Unit at Sydney's Royal North Shore Hospital.

Nicole Kidman wrote on her Facebook after the funeral: "We would just like to thank everyone for their love and prayers over these past couple of weeks."

Meanwhile, Nicole Kidman's daughter, Isabella Cruise, 21, left the limelight of Hollywood for a more low-key lifestyle as she's now working in a London salon after finishing a course at the Vidal Sassoon Academy. The stint reportedly costs £15,000.

"Isabella has been getting stuck in at work and doesn't make a fuss about who her parents are. Some of her workmates don't even realise," the source said, per MailOnline. "Since landing the role, the low-key star has experimented with different hair colors and lengths, including a blue bob."

Another source told The Sun newspaper that Isabella has seemingly adjusted to the London lifestyle and has even expanded her list of friends.

In an earlier report, the death of Nicole Kidman's father reportedly caused tension between the actress and her two adopted children with Tom Cruise, Isabella and Connor. Both children opted to stay with their famous father and even ditched the burial of Dr. Antony Kidman.
