Marvel Entertainment recently shared an exclusive clip of the "Avengers 2" on Twitter; and it got many fans excited because they got a glimpse of the movie. The 31-second footage featured new characters Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) and Quicksilver (Aaron Taylor-Johnson).
Joss Whedon also revealed what we can expect in the sequel. He said, "Mass destruction, check...superheroes, check...a beautiful location, check." One of the crew said, "It's big, it's exciting, this is the stuff movies are made of."
Marvel captioned the video, "Go behind the scenes of @Avengers with a clip from this featurette available on the @Guardians Blu-ray, out now!" Since the producers chose to release the behind-the-scenes footage of "The Avengers: Age of Ultron" in this particular movie, could it mean that both films will have a connection in the future?
There have been rumors that a crossover movie may happen between the Avengers and the Guardians. James Gunn told Yahoo! UK, "We talked about all sorts of possibilities [for a crossover] and I kind of know what the basic plan is. It could always change at any minute."
The director explained, "That could or could not include a couple of Avengers and a couple of Guardians meeting up, or all of the Avengers and all of the Guardians. But, we do inhabit the same universe and they're pretty big personalities that are likely to, at some point or another, run into each other."
Vin Diesel, who stars as Groot, revealed that there have already been negotiations between the two Marvel movie franchises. He said,"I think there's going to be huge fans of the Guardians and there are huge fans of the Avengers and I think the discussion has already been had [at Marvel]. I think the audience may demand something like that."
However, the Avengers and Guardians crossover movie may unlikely happen. James Gunn told Screen Junkies (via MovieWeb), "We really are separate from the Avengers, and I don't think people should assume too many things about the Guardians play in all this."
The director explained, "We have our own galaxy to take care of. We have our own galaxy to save. Earth is the Avengers' province. Thinking that everything is going to come together in a perfect way is not necessarily the way it's going to happen."
I guess we have to settle watching the movies separately - "The Avengers: Age of Ultron" on May 1, 2015 and "Guardians of the Galaxy 2" on May 5, 2017. In the meantime, enjoy the "Avengers 2" exclusive clip below:
