"Thor 3 Ragnarok" writer Christopher Yost has recently hinted on the fate of major characters when the third movie returns to the big screen on 2017.
Moviepilot speculated, "Ragnarok has dual meaning in the Marvel Comics. On one hand, you have the saga, Ragnarok, which was the Asgardian Apocalypse, the end of their world."
"On the other hand, however, you have Ragnarok. A cyborg clone or Thor himself created by Tony Stark combining his own DNA with Asgardian DNA to replace Thor with the real Son of Odin was MIA."
However new reports might suggest that the Ragnarok storyline Marvel is going to pursue for "Thor 3" would be the apocalyptic kind. Rumor has it that the post-credits clip of the "Avengers 2: Age of Ultron" movie will reveal Loki sparking a war between Midgard and Asgard, prompting the start of the Ragnarok.
As HNGN reported, "The titular character, played by Chris Hemsworth, may not even be spared depending on how closely Yost chooses to adapt his screenplay from the "Ragnarok" comic book in which Thor dies. His death comes among others during a massive battle between the Nine Realms that Loki, who currently sits on the Asgard throne, may have a hand in starting."
Apart from the Ragnarok plot, Feige shared that Thor's character will be pushed to greater heights in the next movie.
"We plan on taking Thor to another level. It picks up where we leave Thor in 'Avengers: Age of Ultron' and impacts everything that comes after."
"Thor 3 Ragnarok" is slated for a July 28, 2017 release.
