The absence of Luke Skywalker in "Star Wars Episode 7" trailer got major news, but Mark Hamill was quick to downplay the reports. Meanwhile, Lego included in its popular displays the characters in "The Force Awakens."
He told Yahoo Movies that the "Star Wars Episode 7" trailer highlighted the new generation of characters which is the right thing to do.
"It's the opening act of a whole new approach to the storytelling," he said. "So I never thought that the stories would be - first of all, I never thought I'd be involved in it again, period. And then when George [Lucas] said that they wanted to do more, I rightly assumed that it wouldn't be our story, because we had a beginning, a middle, and an end."
Mark Hamill said that news surrounding the "Star Wars Episode 7" trailer is unwarranted because "The Force Awakens" should "be our offspring and the current generation, with us there lending the kind of support that Peter Cushing and Alec Guinness did in the original."
The 63-year-old actor also said that he was hesitant to do the movie again but was only persuaded after learning that Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher were on board "Star Wars Episode 7: The Force Awakens."
"You know what - if there's a weak link, if Carrie [Fisher] or Harrison [Ford] decides they don't want to do it, there's an out. Because it's all or nothing. It should be all of us or none of us.' So I was ready to go either way. And now that we're all in, we'll see what happens," he said.
In other "Star War Episode 7" news, Lego miniature creator David Hall released new characters inspired by the movie.
"Hall features characters from the trailer, including John Boyega's character Finn, who appeared as a helmet-less stormtrooper in the trailer," Mirror said. "He uploaded the photos from his Flickr account, which also included Oscar Issac's character Poe Dameron."
