JK Rowling published a new "Harry Potter" story about the potions master Professor Severus Snape on the interactive website, Pottermore, last December 12.
The short tale about the man who pined for Lily Potter even after her death was released as the first of Rowling's 12 Days of Christmas offering for loyal fans.
However, the story wasn't easy to get to. In true JK Rowling fashion, fans had to answer a riddle to find out about Severus Snape's childhood.
"In a house on Spinner's End, a meeting takes place, a mother begs help for her son, tears on her face," the riddle read. "Agreeing to help, though he doesn't know how. Which potions master performs an unbreakable vow?"
The answer of course is Professor Snape. Once unlocked, the new "Harry Potter" story talked about the teacher's fictional hometown of Cokeworth where he met Lily and her sister Petunia.
According to Time Magazine, it is also the place where the Dursleys ran to after being bombarded by the onslaught of Hogwarts letters for the 11-year-old Harry in "Harry Potter And The Philosopher's Stone."
The short entry also hinted at the Unbreakable Vow that Snape made in order to save Draco Malfoy from Voldemort's wrath should he fail his task.
On the other hand, the next story, released the day after Snape's, was all about love.
Another riddle read: "Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes is a marvellous place, Full of jokes and potions by the box and the case. The premises are stuffed with people, ready to pop, But on what magical street can you find this fun shop?"
The answer is of course, Diagon Alley. A real-life replica of the said shop can be found in the newly opened area of the Wizarding World Of Harry Potter in Orlando, Florida.
Aside from the short background about the shop, fans can also look for a hidden love potion around the area.
