We pit the Samsung Galaxy S5 vs the Sony Xperia Z2 with regards to their specs, features, display, performance potential and price to see which one is the better smartphone.

According to the Mobile Hub, the price tag for both devices is also very close to each other with the Samsung Galaxy S5 costing at $583 which is $31 cheaper than the Z2. There is no need to argue on speed as they both run on the same Snapdragon 801 processor. In spite of that, the Z2 is much faster as it comes with a 3GB RAM. This is more than the 2GB on the S5.

Then there is the display of both devices. The S5 has a screen that measures at 5.1" whereas the Z2's measure at 5.2". The smaller display on the S5 blessed it with sharper renders at 432ppi. The Z2 can only produce 424ppi.

The special thing about the S5 is the fact that it is the most feature-packed smartphone out there. The device comes with a heart rate monitor and a fingerprint scanner. On the negative side of things, they are all lacking quality.

This is something where the Z2 got it right. Sony gave the device quality down to every atom which explains its slightly higher price. The device has a metal finish and is a beauty compared to the ugly plastic-feel Galaxy S5.

In our books, the Sony Xperia Z2 is the smartphone to go for. This is unless you are into the features being offered by the Samsung Galaxy S5.
