"Thor 3 Ragnarok" will indeed see the demise of all your favorite characters in the movie.
The Ragnarok plot will put an end to all of Asgard including Thor, Loki and Odin (if he's still alive in the third movie). Speculations arose that Marvel might choose to use the other Ragnarok plot involving Tony Starks's cyborg clone, but with recent developments, it sure looks like Marvel is set to destroy Asgard in the third movie.
"Thor 3 Ragnarok" rumors are also claiming that a new character named Amora the Enchantress will be part of the cast.
And while fans are very much anxious to know about the God of Thunder's fate, Marvel will reportedly indulge them with a sneak peek at the end of the "Avengers 2: Age of Ultron." The clip will show Loki sparking a war between Midgard and Asgard, prompting the start of the Ragnarok.
As HNGN reported, "The titular character, played by Chris Hemsworth, may not even be spared depending on how closely Yost chooses to adapt his screenplay from the "Ragnarok" comic book in which Thor dies. His death comes among others during a massive battle between the Nine Realms that Loki, who currently sits on the Asgard throne, may have a hand in starting."
Apart from the Ragnarok plot, Marvel President Kevin Feige shared that Thor's character will be pushed to greater heights in the next movie.
"We plan on taking Thor to another level. It picks up where we leave Thor in 'Avengers: Age of Ultron' and impacts everything that comes after."
"Thor 3 Ragnarok" is slated for a July 28, 2017 release.
