‘Drunk In Love’ Is Amazing, But Does It Belong To Beyonce? ‘Flawless’ Singer And Jay Z Sued By Hungarian Singer

Beyonce’s hit “Drunk In Love” is beyond amazing, but sadly, the track is making headlines for different reasons.

A Hungarian artist, Monika Juhasz Miszura, better known as Mitsou, is reportedly claiming that the a cappella in the starting seconds of Beyonce’s “Drunk In Love” was lifted from her 1995 track “Bajba, Bajba Pelem,” according to the NY Daily News.

“Mitsou never gave permission or consent, and never granted any of the Defendants permission, to user her voice for any purpose,” said the court document.

Mitsou is reportedly asking for unspecified damages in a Manhattan Supreme Court suit filed late last week and is also demanding an end to distribution of the song. The vocals for “Drunk In Love” were allegedly sampled and digitally manipulated, with Mitsou’s voice comprising 29% of the song, the suit reportedly argues.

“Mitsou’s incredible voice is widely considered unique and ethereal, and since the 1990’s, she has been in high demand for countless international collaborations as a featured guest singer,” the suit adds.

The court document reportedly names Jay Z and producer Timbaland as well.

This isn’t the first time Beyonce has been accused of stealing someone else’s work as the “Beyonce” hitmaker was reportedly accused of plagiarizing the moves on her music video for “Countdown” from a Belgian choreographer, according to the Seattle PI.

Beyonce has yet to speak out on the recent accusations.
