"Insurgent" cast Ansel Elgort is preparing for his first EDM album as the actor took to Twitter to dismiss rumors that he's into boys.

In a report from MTV, the actor has been carving his name in the music world. He has been touring clubs as his alter ego Ansolo. And he is set to drop an album early next year.

"I have a record coming out hopefully next month or in February that has crossover potential. It has radio appeal," he told the site. "It's called Shadow, or I Will Be A Shadow. I'm not sure yet. It has a vocal on it. No, it's not my vocal - it's my production. I wanted to make sure that people knew that I was the producer and not the vocalist."

Ansel Elgort said it's important for people to see the difference, "For example, with Calvin Harris people are like, 'Oh, Calvin Harris is the guy that sang 'Feel So Close'...but he's the producer. The vocal is probably what he spent only 20 minutes recording or a couple hours," he said. "But the record he probably spent a month producing, so production is what I'm more into."

Meanwhile, "Insurgent" cast Ansel Elgort debunked rumors that he's gay.

On Thursday, the actor wrote: "Just in case it isn't clear... I like girls. A lot." The post has been retweeted more than 14,000 times.

Later, he added: "Also let me say if I was gay I wouldn't hide it. Being gay or straight isn't bad or good it just IS. U are who you are. Be true to yourself."

Perez Hilton pointed out that "Insurgent" cast Ansel Elgort had a steady girlfriend in Violetta Komyshan in high school. He was also rumored to be dating Sarah Hyland and "The Fault in Our Stars" co-star Shailene Woodley.
