Good news gaming fans as Nintendo revealed a new gaming console, systems and plans!
Nintendo game designer Shigeru Miyamoto briefly explained the firm's future hardware plans, during an interview with the Associated Press.
When asked if he'll pursue to create Wii U games prior the Star Fox release in 2015, he answered, the focus will be on Wii U, for the mean time, however that Nintendo is working on new ideas for hardware too.
"...For the time being, our focus is on the Wii U hardware, but Nintendo as a whole has groups working on ideas for new hardware systems. While we're busy working on software for the Wii U, we have production lines that are working on ideas for what the next system might be."
Anything comes next, Miyamoto wants Mario to lead the way. He compared Mario to Mickey Mouse, who played the major role in many revolutions in animation technology.
He added, "From early on, I wanted Mario to be that character in the digital world, so that with each digital evolution, he was there to usher in the next era. I think that maybe when we release the next hardware system, you can look forward to seeing Mario take on a new role or in a new game."
Miyamoto also previously announced that Amiibos will no longer be available in the market, the company will have the choice of introducing Amiibo cards with similar functions.
Wii U was launched by Nintendo in 2012, but gathered a cold-shoulder response even with its seemingly high technology-tablet-like controller. Rubbish labels were also blamed for the low sales of the game console.
On the other hand, tables have suddenly turned towards the latter part of this year. A major upturn in interest was witnessed when the company launched Bayonetta 2, Super Smash Bros and Mario Kart 8.
