The Imitation Game

"The Imitation Game" star Benedict Cumberbatch has been juggling roles for quite sometime now and he's admittedly very good at it. The 38-year-old actor received rave reviews for his portrayal of mathematics genius Alan Turing.

In an interview with Dispatch, Benedict Cumberbatch, who got engaged to Sophie Hunter a few weeks back, confessed that it can be difficult when the release dates for his movies are close to each other.

The article noted that it's hard to "segue amid publicity for the TV series 'Sherlock' (on BBC since 2010), the animated film 'Penguins of Madagascar,' the third 'Hobbit' film (with his reprising of the voice of the dragon Smaug) and the new thriller 'The Imitation Game.'"

Then there's his rumored involvement in "Doctor Strange" and "Star Wars."

"The Imitation Game" star Benedict Cumberbatch acknowledged that "It's been like this for a couple years."

"It's all so extraordinary. But I'm managing to enjoy it still - which is the main thing," he added.

Meanwhile, his turn as Alan Turing received rave reviews even if the movie itself was panned as "mediocre."

"Benedict Cumberbatch has been labeled an accidental superstar and for good reason," Scott "Kubryk" Sawitz wrote for Inside Pulse. " Without classical movie star looks, and without the sort of tabloid lifestyle most superstars have, Cumberbatch has quickly gone from being that actor everyone loves in something to on the verge of superstardom."

The film critic said that "The Imitation Game" is Benedict Cumberbatch's film and "he carries it in a brilliant manner" because he could have easily taken the easier route by playing Alan Turing like the conflicted genius in the BBC series, "Sherlock."

"It'd be easy for him to play it like Sherlock but he manages to carve out an entirely different character from a similar pathos. Cumberbatch takes a profoundly conflicted human being in Turing and brings out the sympathy in his quirks," the article noted.
