Nick Cannon and Mariah Carey’s marriage lasted nearly six years, with the couple exchanging vows at a private ceremony in April 2008 and announcing their split in August.
Although Nick Cannon has been very vocal about being supportive towards his ex-wife despite the end of their marriage, Mariah Carey may not feel the same way.
The “All I Want For Christmas Is You” singer has reportedly recently been receiving criticism for her performances, particularly her appearance at the Rockefeller Christmas tree lighting, and the mother-of-two is allegedly placing some of the blame on Nick Cannon.
“She holds him partially responsible for the bad press her recent performances have gotten,” a source told E! News.
The insider added, “She’s been stressed over the split — with the fighting and crying — it’s definitely affected her state of mind, her head, her voice and her stage presence. It’s rattled her.”
The couple and their twins were reportedly supposed to spend Christmas together in Colorado, but the “We Belong Together” singer reportedly changed her mind last minute.
“[The decision is] based on a few things,” the insider explained.
The source continued, “For starters, they spent Thanksgiving together and fought behind the scenes. How is it healthy for the kids if both parents are technically in the same place but fighting?”
There have been speculation that Cannon has written “controversial” lyrics about Mariah Carey and the end of their marriage in his upcoming album, but the 34-year-old “America’s Got Talent” host has vehemently denied the rumors via Twitter, according to ET Online.
