Jennifer Lopez was involved in a car accident in Malibu, California in late September after a 53-year-old man crashed into the “Booty” singer’s new car.
The 45-year-old singer had detailed the car accident on her Instagram account.
“Sitting at a light, Riding high right before some drunk fool rear ended us in my new whip!!!,” Jennifer Lopez wrote on her Instagram.
She continued, “Thank god everyone ok!!! #GRATEFUL #THANKYOUGOD #DontdrinkandDrive!!!! #cursedthatfoolout #theBronxcameout #dontmesswithmycocnuts #mamabear #leahstayedcalm #thatwasweird.”
Jennifer Lopez was reportedly with her children, 6-year-old twins Max and Emme, and actress Leah Remini at the time of the accident, according to E! News. Police reportedly told E! News that no one in the car was hurt after the car accident.
The man who allegedly rear-ended Lopez and the “King of Queens” actress was Robert John Reitz, according to the NY Daily News. The man reportedly fled the scene after the accident and was found to have a blood alcohol level nearly twice the legal limit, officials stated on Monday.
The Los Angeles County District Attorney was reportedly charged with two misdemeanor counts of drunk driving and scheduled for immediate arraignment in Van Nuys, California. Reitz reportedly faces a possible maximum sentence of six months in county jail and a $1,000 fine if convicted as charged.
