Chris Evans has taken his role as Captain America off-screen as well.
The 33-year-old actor’s recent visit to the Boston care center Christopher’s Haven brought smiles all around, especially for 9-year-old Kenny Botting.
Botting is reportedly battling a brain tumor and underwent brain surgery back in September and has been staying at Christopher’s Haven for the past three weeks. The young boy has reportedly been staying at Christopher’s Haven with his sister and mother as he undergoes treatment next door at Mass General Hospital, according to CBS Local.
Botting reportedly received an autograph and gifts from Evans and took pictures with the “Captain America” star, according to WBZ-TV. Botting was reportedly able to take the action star on a tour of the facility as well, according to People magazine.
“It’s in their strength that gives me strength. No matter what hurdles are in my life, it’s nothing compared to what these families go through, so any way I can bring a smile, it’s worth it,” explained Chris Evans.
Evans is reportedly currently in town for an event at Fenway Park to raise money for Christopher’s Haven.
“Christopher’s Haven has given me a new apartment and a new home to stay and be here,” explained Botting.
The young boy was clearly happy to see Captain America amidst the holidays.
“I am more than happy. I just want to say thank thanks for coming,” stated Botting.
