The 49-year-old actor took to Twitter to write a sorry note: "Dear Kim, my extreme bad. really embarrassed by my actions. I was already p****d about some other c**p that had nothing to do with you. I heard a story that bothered me. wrote some trash you didn't deserve. Ever. I'm an idiot as often as I'm a genius. that day, clearly I was the former. xox c."

Charlie Sheen then ended the apology with the hashtag "#ShutUpSheen."

Charlie Sheen's sorry came in the wake of the Twitter rant against Kim Kardashian on Tuesday, as reported by TMZ.

Apparently, the tirade was started by the story told to him by a friend of a young girl who happened to mention that she's a big fan of Kim Kardashian. The reality star allegedly turned the request down.

Charlie Sheen started his Twitter rant with the anecdote before saying, "She cries about it every night before she goes to sleep."

Then he wrote: "you are lucky that ANYONE cares about your gross and giggly [sic] bag of funk you dare call an ass."

"Your public loves u. give something back or go f yourself," he added. "My apologies to your hubby, great guy I'm sure, I hope his vision returns one day."

Charlie Sheen has since taken down the Twitter rant against Kim Kardashian.

According to Daily Mail, Charlie Sheen confirmed the story to the gossip news site as he said that Kim Kardashian has "Zero gratitude, zero awareness, zero talent, a pox on the face of entertainment she is!"

Kim Kardashian, for her part, denied the accusations in Charlie Sheen's Twitter rant as she claimed that she always make time for her fans.
