Uprise's official website brags of their latest work, a Battlelog for Star Wars Battlefront 4. With this, Star Wars Battlefront 3 is speculated to feature the same companion app.
"Battlelog is the social layer of Battlefield. We've created a companion experience that spans over desktop, mobile, tablet and game. A companion experience that connects the Battlefield titles - and that enables you to keep in touch with your Battlefield friends, configure your loadout and even use the companion as an extended minimap while playing. Battlelog is used by millions of players every week - if you haven't already, check it out," the website stated.
According to Airherald, the service which can be logged in to through Android, iOS devices and web browser, is basically an online community that lets players connect with other users. The companion app that will be coming to Star Wars Battlefront may not be necessarily named "Battlelog" even if they'll have the same feature.
The developers have yet to confirm about the said app. Reportedly, the developers have set planet Hoth and the Moon as playable map areas, and it is widely assumed that the game will only focus on the original trilogy.
Star Wars Battlefront is expected to be launched by summer of 2015 as reported by Eurogamer, however it was moved by a few months as Electronic Arts announced its December release date via Twitter. The new game will hit the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC platforms and will coincide with JJ Abrams' Star Wars: Episode 7 that premieres December of 2015.
Christian Today noted that the previously known third-person series will no longer operate that way as Electronic Arts Chief Financial Officer, Blake Jorgensen, described it as EA's first "major first-person shooter" for 2015. It is speculated that it may be caused by DICE's "unparalleled knowledge with the first person theme."
