The "Sherlock" season 4 air date is slowly but surely nearing its scheduled release!
According to the Daily Mail, the BBC show's stars, Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman were spotted filming at the Colston Hall in Bristol, England earlier this week.
The scenes that were shot at the music hall are reportedly going to be included in the promised Christmas special episode that will be aired later this year. The usual three-episode season will follow in early 2016.
The two main character will reportedly be joined by Sherlock Holmes' arch enemy, Jim Moriarty (played by Andrew Scott.)
Fans of the crime drama immediately uploaded bird's-eye view photos of the stars. They are not the only ones excited as well. Producer and cast member Mark Gatiss updated fans about the shoot through social media.
"On my way West. It begins... #Sherlock," he tweeted.
In a recent interview with The Wall Street Journal, "The Imitation Game" star shared his experience about being surrounded by fans during filming, this time as preparation for the "Sherlock" season 4 air date.
"When we film on the street for 'Sherlock,' there are groups of hundreds, thousands of people standing and watching us. It's surreal," he revealed.
"It's like my day at the office is actually being overtaken by a lot of people watching me send memos and make calls, and I surf the Internet and suddenly every move is being videotaped or analyzed or giggled over."
He added, "It's mostly benign but the amount of focus is sort of strange. So I guess then you just have to make sure you preserve yourself."
He is certainly doing his best to "preserve" himself, especially now that he's preparing for his wedding and first child with theatre director Sophie Hunter.
Wedding plans and "Sherlock" season 4 filming aside, the "Penguins Of Madagascar" star will be attending several prestigious awards shows for his portrayal of legendary code breaker Alan Turing in "The Imitation Game" this year. He will also be working with Marvel Studios for "Doctor Strange" which will reportedly premiere in 2016.
