After the cancelation of ten of his shows in North America, Bill Cosby took the stage in Kitchener, Ontario on Wednesday, January 7 where he received a standing ovation, according to E! News.

Despite the surprising success of Cosby’s show in Ontario, supporters of the “Cosby Show” star, the most recent being his former TV wife Phylicia Rashad, have reportedly been receiving criticism for defending the 77-year-old comedian.

“Forget these women,” Rashad had reportedly told Showbiz 411’s Roger Friedman, according to the Star Tribune.

She added, “What you’re seeing is the destruction of a legacy. And I think it’s orchestrated.”

Director Judd Apatow, who had previously tweeted about the sexual assault allegations that have surfaced, expressed outrage towards Rashad’s recent comments.

“Phylicia — how many women need to be raped before you realize he destroyed his own legacy? 40? 50? For me, it’s one,” concluded the “Knocked Up” director.

Apatow wasn’t the only one expressing anger towards the “Cosby Show” alum’s recent comments.

“What if something like this happened to her daughter? Shame on her and shame on Bill,” one of Cosby’s accusers, former Playboy bunny Sarita Butterfield, told TMZ.

Another accuser, Angela Leslie, also reportedly commented, “I looked at her as a woman with morals, and it’s sad that she’s speaking like this.”

A small group of protesters outside the Center in the Square were reportedly seen before Bill Cosby’s performance. Despite the protesters, Cosby reportedly stated that he “had a wonderful time” and that he wanted to “personally thank you for giving me the opportunity to bring laughter back into your lives tonight.”

“Also, I would like to applaud all of you and give you a standing ovation for respecting yourselves, the theatre and the event organization that produced a spectacular show for the Kitchener Community,” added Cosby.
