"Fashion Police's" new host Kathy Griffin revealed how she felt during the show's return following Joan Rivers' death. According to a report from Extra TV, the late comedienne's protégé shared that she felt the former host's presence.

"I felt Joan's presence because Melissa was there," said Kathy Griffin.

Melissa Rivers is Joan Rivers' only child and executive producer of the hit E! series.

"They were so entwined in each other's lives and everybody knows that so I was so glad that she was there."

"She's the bridge between the Joan era and hopefully what will be an era that we're able to continue," Kathy Griffin added about the 46-year-old daughter of Joan Rivers.

As "Fashion Police's" new host following the TV icon's untimely death last Sept. 4, Kathy Griffin admitted that she was nervous.

"I feel the pressure of living up to the legacy of Joan Rivers and the show," she said.

"(The show) is the tent pole and foremost show where you know someone is going to bring the hammer down, and I have taken that hammer or gavel or just hash tag harsh judgment and enjoy running with it," the redheaded comedienne explained.

"Fashion Police" returned after a four-month hiatus. The show kicked off its return last Jan. 12 with the Golden Globes 2015 red carpet review.

Hollywood Life said the program began with Kathy Griffin remembering Joan Rivers, who died after a botched throat procedure at a New York Upper East Side clinic.

"Before I start making more enemies and burning more bridges, I just want to thank my good friend whom we all miss, Joan Rivers," said the outspoken comic. The other "Fashion Police" hosts and people from the studio applauded.

"Of course, Joan, I know you're watching from heaven but don't get it twisted. I will not be afraid to bring the hammer down on anyone and everyone."

"I learned from the best," Kathy Griffin added about the former "Fashion Police" host .
