The news and rumors in the NBA have intensified ahead of next month's trade deadline and recently, Brooklyn Nets was reported to be working to ship out its center Brook Lopez to anybody who's interested. Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Clippers will cut Jordan Farmar from its roster.

According to the NBA rumor heard by Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports, the Nets are talking wth the Charlotte Hornets and the Oklahoma Thunder for a three-team trade.

However, Lance Stephenson was a major piece in the trade and the Brooklyn Nets appeared to have balked at the notion of taking in the unpredictable guard. Instead, the team is just talking with the Oklahoma Thunder for a swap.

The Oklahoma Thunder badly needs a center with offensive and defensive capability in the mold of Brook Lopez to help it get over the hump.

"Oklahoma City has been the most aggressive in its pursuit of Lopez ... and the Nets have delivered indications they would like to settle on a trade by the weekend," according to the NBA news and rumors from Yahoo.

One of the risks of taking in the 26-year-old Brook Lopez is his player option of $16.7 million for the 2015-16 season. The center is expected to exercise that player option because of nagging foot injuries. The Nets, meanwhile, is looking to save money with two more max-contract players, Deron Williams and Joe Johnson, in its roster.

In other NBA news and rumors, the LA Clippers will buy out Jordan Farmar's $4.2 million contract which will be completed this week. The former Los Angeles Lakers champion averaged a lowly 4.6 points this season.

"The Clippers found Farmar expendable after acquiring guard Austin Rivers, the son of Clippers president and coach Doc Rivers, from the Boston Celtics in a three-team trade on Thursday," the report said.
