Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman are getting closer to the "Sherlock" season 4 premiere. Both actors have also been spotted filming for the preceding Christmas episode that will be airing December of this year.

Avid fans of the series uploaded photos of the pair filming at various locations. They have also been freely expressing their love for the BBC crime drama by following the crew around London.

However, Freeman, who plays Sherlock's sidekick and best friend John Watson, expressed his apprehension about drawing too much attention during shoots.

They have only started filming but the crowd during that time made it seem like the "Sherlock" season 4 premiere.

"When we're [filming at] our stand-in for Baker Street, it is hard to do your job. And I don't love it," "The Hobbit" star reportedly told The Independent. "It's like trying to act at a premiere."

He added that he has "never seen anything like it."

"There's such a heightened sense of excitement, so every time we come out, there's applauding - and it's like, 'No, can you n-.' Or, if we do anything - 'Cut!' - applause... It's like, 'No, this isn't a gig,'" he continued.

Freeman and Benedict Cumberbatch have certainly amassed a cult following not only for the Emmy Award winning series but also for their recent blockbuster successes.

Both British stars just finished promoting "The Hobbit: Battle Of Five Armies." Cumberbatch has also been nominated for Best Actor at the Oscars for playing the World War II code breaker Alan Turing in "The Imitation Game."

Meanwhile, Freeman also received accolades for starring in the FX mini-series "Fargo." Receiving so much recognition is to be expected now that both actors have become international stars.

With the "Sherlock" season 4 premiere airing in 2016, the pair will only get even more famous but Freeman still isn't used to the attention.
