The game director for the classic Resident Evil 2, Hideki Kamiya, has responded to the reports of Capcom considering a Resident Evil 2 remake.

That's why it is a bit interesting to see his reaction to the news about Capcom thinking about doing a remake of Resident Evil 2.
This is what he said:
A short "oh" can mean a lot. Does he not care that Capcom is potentially going to remake his game without him? Is he surprised by the news? Perhaps time will tell when more details about the Resident Evil 2 remake surface.
In our previous report, we noted that Capcom's Resident Evil HD Remaster was a resounding success after reports of its sales exceeded the expectations of Capcom and the general reaction by fans to the game was very positive.
Cyberland reported that, Capcom is allegedly considering making a remake of the franchise's most infamous game, Resident Evil 2, because of the success of the Resident Evil HD Remaster.
The report also states that the Resident Evil 2 remake could start its development cycle after Capcom is finished with Resident Evil Revelations 2 and that the possible release date for the Resident Evil 2 remake is sometime in Q4 of 2016.
It should be noted that fans already want a Resident Evil 2 remake made right now as evidenced by the petition made by gamers on Petition Buzz.
