Comedian Zach Galifianakis was barely recognizable as he showed off his dramatic weight loss during the Screen Actors Guild Awards in New York.
According to Hollywood Life Zach Galifianakis tried to be witty during the introductory montage at the SAG Awards when the cameras caught him.
The 45-year-old comedian deadpanned: "I am Zach Galifianakis and I am and actor."
The website said the joke would have been funny but viewers were too busy second guessing if what they watched on screen was actually the comedian.
"Rocking the man-bun trend, Zach pulled his hair back and showed off his thinner, clean-shaven face," it added.
Earlier, Zach Galifianakis observed to The Hollywood Reporter about the perils of fame.
"It's gotten a little out of hand - there's no culture in it. If people were writing about poets, mathematicians and all that, that would just move us forward quicker," he said.
"I think celebrity is a manmade thing; it's not innate in us. We have people telling us, 'We should pay attention to these people,' for all the wrong reasons, their personal lives and whatnot. ... I'd rather just do my work and go home and watch Lifetime," Zach Galifianakis said.
In an interview with E! News, Zac Galifianakis joked about his weight loss during the "Birdman" premiere in the Lincoln Center in New York.
"I'm dying," he joked, adding that his suit size is now down to "ladies [size] 50."
But there's a reason to Zac Galifianakis' dramatic weight loss as he revealed to Conan O'Brian last year, said E!
"I stopped drinking and I just kind of put the weight off...I was having a lot of vodka with sausage...delicious but bad for you," he said. "I was getting into too much trouble with the drinking, so I just kind of stopped."
