Kim Sears was criticized for hurling "F" bombs during boyfriend Andy Murray's win against Thomas Berdych during the semi-final of the Australian Open on Thursday.
Dan Hodges of the Telegraph wrote that while her exact words are left in the air, and are heavily dependent on the lip reader, the most common words, however, are "f-k" and "Czech."
"I fully appreciate that we live in the Age of Outrage," he wrote. "And yes, Kim Sears was caught up in the moment, and yes, she's very pretty, and yes, I'm sure in almost all other ways she's exactly the sort of girl you would like to take home to meet your mum. But wasn't what she did just a teen-tiny bit - well, you know, xenophobic?"
He added the Andy Murray's girlfriend Kim Sears' rant was made more significant because it was two decades since Eric Cantona launched himself into the crows at Selhurst Park after he was constantly harassed by fan Matthew Simmonds who screamed, "F-k off back to Franch, you French motherf-----!"
Eric Cantona was banned from football for almost a year.
"If Kim Sears wants to support Andy Murray, fine," he added. "But she can do it without resorting to xenophobic abuse. And if she can't, then please let's not make her a folk hero for it."
Meanwhile, Kim Sears' dad laughed off her foul comments during Andy Murray's match.
Tennis coach Nigel Sears said that Andy Murray's girlfriend always had a potty mouth like her mother. But he was surprised by the amount of backlash the event had caused.
"Quite amazing how much has been made of this," the report said. "But it's pretty emotional in that box when you're close to someone... and it was a feisty match."
"They've been together a long time, and it just goes with the territory. Andy's a huge figure in the game, so naturally her association with him means there's always going to be a certain spotlight on Kim," Nigel Sears added.
