With Valentine's Day coming up, it may be time for a marathon viewing of your favorite romantic comedy or to even start one you missed.
Here are some of our favorite romantic comedies and why:
1. "Secret Garden:" The part about the cold-hearted chaebol ( Hyun Bin) falling for the poor working girl is nothing special but Ha Ji Won plays the coolest stuntwoman in all of k-drama. And then they get to switch bodies. Good at capturing the moment when you can't stop thinking about that other person. And then there is the cappuccino foam kiss.
2. "My Lovely Kim Sam Soon:" This comedy plays homage to "Bridget Jones's Diary" and is another winner for Hyun Bin, who plays a restaurant owner. Kim Sun Ah plays the curvaceous pastry chef whose confectionary skills win his heart.
3. "Personal Taste:" Lee Min Ho and Son Ye Jin are pretty appealing in this drama about a man who pretends to be gay and the woman who loves him. He thinks she is too giving and forgiving. But she has everything he does not know to ask for. And once she learns his secret, she must forgive him.
4. "Flower Boy Ramen Shop:" Jung Il Woo plays a spoiled rich kid. Lee Chung Ah is a poor student teacher. Before her father died, he forgot to tell her that he arranged for a mysterious man to take care of her. After she knocks out the arrogant Jung Il Woo, Lee Chung Ah's teaching career is over but who should show up at father's ramen shop? Lee Chung Ah finds more love than she bargained for and Jung Il Woo learns the meaning of perseverance
5. "Fated To Love You:" In k-dramas a baby bump can often lead to a forced relationship that then slowly but surely leads to true love. Jang Nara and Jang Hyuk do not seem fated to love each other when the drama starts but the more viewers see of this sweet couple, the more fated their union seems. Even Choi Jin Hyuk cannot tear them apart.
6. "You Who Came From The Stars:" Although this comedy had some dramatic moments, if ever there was a couple fated to be it was the characters played by Kim Soo Hyun and Jun Ji Hyun. Time and space could not keep the alien and Hallyu star apart.
7. "Rooftop Prince:" Time travel also plays a part in this comedy about a prince who was in love with the wrong woman. JYJ's Park Yoochun plays the prince on a quest to solve a murder. Han Ji Min plays the woman who introduces him to both the truth and the ways of modern life.
8. "The Master's Sun:" Although this drama was billed as horror rom com, the ghosts and visions are secondary to the great chemistry between So Ji Sub and Gong Hyo Jin. She has troubling visions that go away when she touches him. So she has to find ways to touch him that are comic gold.
9. "Coffee Prince." Yoon Eun Hye pretends to be a boy to work for Goo Yong but complications ensue when he falls in love with her. The drama contains maybe the most romantic scene in all of k-drama, when Goo Yong decides he loves Yoon Eun Hye' character no matter what.
10. "Princess Hours:" Although this saga about a pretend Korea with a modern monarchy also has some drama to it, the main love story between the prince played by Joo Ji Hoon and the Cinderella character played by Yoon Eun Hye is right out of a fairy tale.
There are so many good romantic comedies that we could go on but the list would just be too long. Let us know which is your favorite romantic comedy?
