Good news gamers, after many weeks of development and seven pre-releases, "Minecraft" 1.8.2 is finally released.
According to an announcement by Mojang, "Minecraft" 1.8.2 released Thursday, Feb.19. Jens Bergensten, a Minecraft developer tweeted on Feb 17., "Minecraft (PC) will be updated to 1.8.2 on Thursday. This is primarily a stability and performance update."
This new "Minecraft" incremental update has been published by Mojang, more than five months after the hit game's last big patch was released to the general public, bringing new performance and stability fixes as fans wait for the next content-rich "Minecraft" update.
IDigitalTimes notes, there's not really much to get excited about the "Minecraft" 1.8.2 update. Dozens of bugs were addressed in "Minecraft" 1.8.2 update, however, only a few were the sort of game-breaking issues that would require Mojang to ignore content creation, in favor of bug fixing.
The goal of the update is also to check for any bug and report it to the company. According to NewsEveryday, the pre-release will enable "Minecraft" players to try out the content before it is officially launched by Mojang.
Mojang announced on its website on Feb. 19:
"Only minor changes were made since pre-release 7 which was available since Monday. Version 1.8.2 is also fully compatible with all previous server versions (1.8 and 1.8.1), but we recommend to update to 1.8.2 as soon as possible to benefit from all bug fixes and improvements we made in the game."
In order to install the pre-release, players can follow the steps mentioned below:
Open the Launcher

Brenda Romero, veteran game developer, said "Minecraft" has a big impact on the game industry. According to Romero, when developers were determined on making realistic graphics, "Minecraft" went against the tide with its simple visuals and served as a "reboot of the graphics arms race," Gameranx reported.
Romero added that there were massive projects in the works that got rebooted solely because of "Minecraft." He says, gameplay and what's happening in the player's head matters. According to him, "Minecraft" is shockingly unprecedented.
"Minecraft," a sandbox independent video game was originally created by Swedish programmer Markus "Notch" Persson and later developed and published by Mojang.
